“Mrs. Dobromilova” is a stage play depicting the visit of the Inquisitor to the home of the Master Executioner Dobromil. The purpose of the meeting is to explain to Mrs. Dobromilova the personnel changes in the Torture Chamber, where her husband works.
The Troubadour also enters the scene, a future playwright whose talent will undoubtedly win over the stages of the entire Kingdom. In a private conversation, Mrs. Dobromilova presents the Inquisitor with her objections to the noble initiative of equal rights for women, pointing out its shortcomings from the perspective of domestic and social order.
The climax is a joint discussion among the three protagonists about the sensational story of a certain female mayor who fought for equal rights but, as a result of complications, decided to reconsider her views. The Inquisitor declines the invitation to dinner, the Troubadour accepts it, while outside the house, shut inside a wicker cage, a rooster awaits his fate.
The play combines humor, irony, and reflection on social norms, equality, and the limits of individual initiative. Its intimate, dialogue-driven, multi-threaded stage form allows the focus to remain on the subtle interplay of characters, the twists of fate, and the relationships between the protagonists.
